Oþþe þu healdest mid man,
An mægene, swā swā eall we.
An man þe næs hæfde āwriten ealle his cārdas,
Ac an man þe is gecoren fram þære treowe sylf.

Or thou holdest with man,
A power, as we all do.
A man who had not written all his cards,
But a man who is chosen from the tree itself.
