Job truly arose on the eighteenth day in the early morning and offered God sevenfold sacrifices for his seven sons, lest they might turn away from God in their thoughts. Thus did Job all his days for his sons, and they so sanctified.
It happened on a certain day, when the angels of God came and stood in his sight, that there was also such a fiend among them. To this said the Lord, "Whence comest thou?" The fiend answered, "I have gone to and fro in the earth, and walked up and down in it." The Lord said, "Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him upon the earth, a perfect man and upright, one that feareth God and escheweth evil?" So stood the devil in God's sight as does the blind before the sun. The sun shines upon the blind man, yet the blind cannot see its light.
