Hāmnēod ǣfre sċeal ūs fȳrsmeortan.
Innere līgȳþ onǣlþ ūs heortan.
God ān biþ sē þe ūre wyrd cann,
ac feohtaþ wē oþ þone endemann!

Hāmnēod ever shall us fire-slay.
Innerly lieth with open heart.
God alone is he who knoweth our fate,
but we shall fight until the end!
