The Meeting of the Land

From Sinosura the coast
reacheth North 30. miles to the towne of Pan, which lyeth under thrée degrées and a halfe : ten
miles further by the same course the coast runneth againe North Northwest for 50. miles, where
the towne of Patane lyeth under 7. degrees and a halfe: These two towns Pan and Patane are
kingdomes, but contributaries to Sian. From these places comes the wood called Pala Dagula,
and the costly sweet woode called Calamba, which being good, is waid against Silver and Gold:
they also have Camphora, but not so good as that of the Island Borneo. There is founde some
gold, and the stone called Bezars stone, which is very costly and proved to be good against
poyson. There are likewise some Diamants, and also Nutmegs and flowers, and the wood
Sapon, whereof also much is brought from Sian, it is like Brasille to die withall.

Þær is funden sum gold, and se stān gehaten Bezars stone, þe is swiþe dyrne and geendod to be god ongæst poyson. Þær sind eac sum Diamants, and eac Nutmegs and blōwan gyddes, and se wuda Sapon, hwǣrof eac mycel is broht fram Sian; hit is gelic Brasille to dīgan mid.
