The Bishop's Purchase and the City

Siþþan bohte sum biscop his lic mid feo, and hine gelædde on his ceastre ond hine gesette on
sumum mere; of þæm mere fleow ær flod ond forbræc þa ceastre. Ac siþþan wæs seo ceaster
wiþ þæm flode gehealden mid Godes wuldor.

After a bishop bought his body with money, he led it into his city and set it upon
a mere; from that mere the flood flowed before and broke the city. But after, the city was
held against the flood by God's glory.
