The Bishop's Purchase

Siþþan bohte sum biscop his lic mid feo, and hine gelædde on his ceastre ond hine gesette on sumum mere; of þæm mere fleow ær flod ond forbræc þa ceastre. Ac siþþan wæs seo ceaster wiþ þæm flode gehealden mid Godes wuldor.

After a bishop bought his body with money, he led it into his city and placed it on a lake; from that lake the flood flowed before and destroyed the city. But thereafter the city was preserved against the flood by God's glory.
