The Dark Desires of Morgoth

Then Morgoth looking upon her beauty conceived in his thought an evil lust, and a design more dark than any that had yet come into his heart since he fled from Valinor. Thus he was beguiled by his own malice, for he watched her, leaving her free for a while, and taking secret pleasure in his thought.

Þa Morgoth locigende on hyre fægernesse forðfēng his thōht an unrihtlic lust, and ān dēað harsca þæt swīþe wæs mārwēst þonne æniġ þe ǣfre þurh his heorte come siððan hē flēon sād Valinor. Swā hē wæs begyllede fram his agenre mælce, forðan þe hē hwætte hyre, lǣtende hyre frēo for sumne hwile, and nimende sċyrran næc tilian on his thōhte.
